Yoga Mo-Flo is a method of movement created by Heather Aydelott that combines yoga asanas with mobility drills. The combination of yoga and mobility works the body 360 degrees and targets every muscle and joint. Because the focus is more on mobility, this dynamic method directly increases the longevity of the body. This dynamic way of moving infuses primal motions with mind calming yoga creating joy of movement rarely found in traditional exercise classes.
Mobility training is something you may hear but not know much about. It is an immensely valuable tool to add to your regular practice because it adds strength, flexibility, and reduces your risk of injury. Plus, it's super fun to do. We move our body in interesting ways (think animalistic, primal movements) and this can make you incredibly functional and strong.
WHY YOGA?
Yoga is an ancient practice of matching movement to breath. Yoga is a wonderful way to create mindfulness in your movement and really connect your spiritual, energetic, and physical self. We can gain more alignment in these areas of our lives by practicing yoga on the mat so we can have more alignment and peace off the mat.
I am a 200 hour certified yoga teacher and holistic nutrition coach. I have been practicing yoga for 15 years and earned my teaching certification 6 years ago. I began incorporating mobility drills into my workout routine about three years ago because I wasn't getting the results I wanted from yoga alone. By combining yoga and mobility drills I became stronger, more flexible, and able to do all kinds of movement I wasn't able to achieve before. So I decided to create yoga mo-flo and make it available for everyone to benefit from my learning experiences. I also am available for one on one health coaching if you're interested in working directly with me.
